By Baptism we become members of the Body of Christ.
In Baptism, the Holy Spirit moves us to answer Christ's call to holiness. Through this sacrament, we are invited to walk by the light of Christ, trust in his wisdom, and submit our hearts to Christ with ever deeper love.
Infant Baptism
It is such a blessing for the whole family to have your child baptized. Baptism is the beginning of your child's spiritual journey. Your family will need to become active participants and good stewards of the Church, attending Sunday Masses and giving as you discern and are able. Another way of helping build the community is through your parish involvement. We appreciate any way you can share your time, talents and treasures as volunteers in one of the many ministries of St. Catherine’s Temecula. All families are invited (but not required) to
become members of the parish.
Baptism Catechesis Session
Parents and godparents are asked to attend a formation session on Baptism Catechesis, held on a Saturday of the month (except Lent and Advent). If the godparents are not able to attend formation here at St Catherine's, they may attend at their home parish and send us the certificate upon completion. Session is $100/per family for non-registered/non-active families, $50 for registered and active families.
Baptism Day
Our parish hosts Infant Baptisms once per month, on Sunday during Mass, English and Spanish (except Lent and Advent).

Baptism for Older Children & Adults:
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
For older children and adults, the Church, after the Second Vatican Council, has restored the order of the Catechumenate in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults according to the
United States Catholic Catechism for Adults. It outlines the steps for the formation of catechumens, bringing their conversion to the faith to a greater maturity.
OCIA (formerly RCIA) brings a non-Catholic who is discerning a call to become a Catholic into full communion with the church, fully initiated. The process, preparation and formation vary between persons.
